O' Dear Heart

O' Dear Heart

5 minutes to 10, when the clock stopped ticking

and my heart stopped beating

I died.

When I sent you away, begrudgingly of course. I was tied to a chair. I hadn’t a choice

A ransom was asked so I paid the price so you could be free; free of me.

It all made sense, summer was bright and winter was gray then you came along and changed it all. For good or worse I cannot say but it was change all the same

I could never tell, when we were together

Phantom or Ghost. What were you my dear?

A walking dream?

O’ Morpheus taunt me not, these visions of a goddess with more beauty than Aphrodite herself ever could possess.

For how could I mere mortal not even a man, just a boy attain her love forever more.

The answer to my hearts pain and despair. I cannot.

Not in this life nor the next.
