I Write Poetry
Broken pieces, shattered all around
We heard the sound, when it all hit the ground
Torn pages, in the book of my life
In the pain and strife, seems like a loosing fight
Empty spaces, covered in clutter
My heart skips paces, and my words come in stutters
I see the places, where the painting should be
In the tapestry, that should express me
But then I see a picture come together
The picture to mend, I see something better
Nothing like it was before,
Nothing as it was but so much more
Such is the journey of becoming me
Such is adventure in self-discovery
I’m still on my way and the glue’s not set
But for now, I’m hoping you like what you get
Take a step back,
you’ll have to look from a distance
See for yourself
Not just one specific instance
But the whole of me
We heard the sound, when it all hit the ground
Torn pages, in the book of my life
In the pain and strife, seems like a loosing fight
Empty spaces, covered in clutter
My heart skips paces, and my words come in stutters
I see the places, where the painting should be
In the tapestry, that should express me
But then I see a picture come together
The picture to mend, I see something better
Nothing like it was before,
Nothing as it was but so much more
Such is the journey of becoming me
Such is adventure in self-discovery
I’m still on my way and the glue’s not set
But for now, I’m hoping you like what you get
Take a step back,
you’ll have to look from a distance
See for yourself
Not just one specific instance
But the whole of me
