I Write Poetry
I miss
I wish
Do you remember
Sneaking in my window
The coin fountain where you cradled my head
When we kissed beneath the water of the pool
When we kissed in the rain
I wish
I miss
Do you remember
Now I stare at these pictures of you
How the sun lit your hair from behind
How your eyes shone in the moonlight
When you curtsied in the garden
& we danced on the mountaintop
I miss
I wish
I still remember
The smell of your hair
The taste of your mouth
The heat of your skin
The flutter of your lids
The sound of your moans
I wish
I miss
I still remember
Now dirty sheets lie on empty beds
Your perfume no longer lingers in the air
You’re voice is no longer there
…calling my name
You’re with another
I miss
I wish
I’ll never forget…
