Brave Is He.

A personal story in the experience: I Write Poetry
B rave is he who takes a step into the darkened night,

for beyond him is a battle in which he has to fight.

Bold is he who says to all I will return some day,

For to stay forever in the dark is to great a price to pay.

The first step is the deadliest for he must not slip and fall,

and if he does there is a chance he might return at all.

This battle isn't physically even though that's what it seems.

For the darkness is his mind and the battle are his dreams.

Janet

And yet, the greatest battles of all are within ourselves and our own minds.

Beautiful piece!

Thank you newki yes they are. Demons of our mind are the worse kind always hovering about waiting for the chance of weakness to claim one for their own.

I totally agree - our minds can be like darkened caves with demons and ghouls as inhabitants but only if we allow it. It does take some discipline and the knowledge that thoughts are things and we can change our thoughts in an instant if we so choose. We do love to sit on the pity potty at times though. It can be so uncomfortably comfortable.

Moxie yes our minds are a very powerful organ and can play all kinds of tricks on us and some are just a bit out of kilter with chemical in their brain but that can be fixed with help and medication hugs
