I love the occasional days when I putter and ponder
and accomplish little. Punctuate the middle of the day
by pulling and kicking my way along a lap lane
at the community pool, diving deep
at the end of the lane
with a backwards bow of my spine.
Fritter time
like a goddess spreading stars, a flower letting its pollen
and delicate furry tendrils float
on the breeze and glitter
in the sun.
