The Song Bird

The song bird cannot sing

not one note can it ring

not a feather has its bling

so it lays here

swirled in a heap

 the songbird starts to weep

the note its strives to keep

while peace it starts to seek

the world has dubbed it weak

the future seems so bleak

the water is too deep

when the songbird takes its leap

swirled in a heap

its song   was found

the notes were bound

and buried in the ground

the spirit of the soul

of secrets yet untold

 gathers at the bowel

of discarded notes of pain

it stumbles in the rain

and pulls away the knife

It thinks again  the strife

of broken dreams of life

the color mixes with the rain

while the soul plays inside the drain

it dreams it is a song bird

while it rises from this earth

the waters swirl in the tub

mixing old liquid with young

the song plays on the tounge

of spirit ageless wings

the song bird finally sings.
