I Wrote a Letter
I wrote a letter to you today. In it I was bold and fearless, easily capable of saying all the things I've refrained from telling you to this point. I talked freely and happily of my feelings for you. The love that swells within me at the very thought of you. The concern that overwhelms me when I know you're not happy. The sorrow I feel when there's nothing I can do to make you feel better about life. How I wish we could be together always, never apart from one another, living a life of daring and being carefree for all our days. I explained to you that the money doesn't matter. There are so many more important things in life than the things that money can buy. How meeting you was the most thrilling thing in life. Getting to know you has been a grand adventure. And falling in love with you was the most unexpected surprise of them all. There is nothing that I could possibly change about you because you are perfect just as you are.
And instead of sending it to you, I lit it on fire and watched the words melt into the page as it blew away with the snow...
