Slip Away

In the summer, storms erupt
A crack of thunder
Blaze of light.
And through the sudden, pouring rain,
The fog and mist
Obstruct my sight.

But suddenly, you’re lost to me
So far, so far
A distant star
I reach to you
Across the void
To try and end our silent war

Your sight has clouded,
Full of mist
Like storms that drench
Obscure the day
And from your blind, unseeing eye,
I slowly, calmly
Slip away.
