I Assume This Is Figuratively Speaking

My heart must be blue. Blue because I love to play blues guitar, which is really a good way to express your emotions if you ask me. Also because I "feel blue" (as in feeling sad) because of a lot of sad things. Like wars, how nothing lasts forever or my tonsiloliths (is that how you spell them? they are annoying to write as well).

But it's also red. Red because deep down, I am a very loving person. I try to make my family feel it, but I should do it more. I also have friends to show affection for, but you know. They're only friends and all. And not close to me emotionally, which is something I'm really starving for. I'm starved for affection!

Hey! You're right, those would make good lyrics. I didn't realise that at all.
It's true. If we don't work on it ourselves, we can be guaranteed that nothing will change. It's a good goal. Worth a try anyway.

For the both of you, I hope things change for the better for all of us. Thanks for commenting, it means a lot to me! But we have to work on it ourselves as well. Getting/showing more affection etc.
Spirit, I hate my tonsils so thanks!
"I think that everyone has different sides to their heart and that ironically, that's what connects us at the same time as keeping us apart." That's very true, I think. I also think that could be made into some good lyrics.
I would consider setting that goal of yours as well. I find it easier to open up to people here on EP and connect with them. There are so many lovely people on EP so there must be a lot of lovely people out there as well.

I hope your tonsils get better :(
"I try to make my family feel it, but I should do it more" - the whole world could do with more in my opinion.
It's alright to be blue sometimes since that's part of being human. And good music comes from it of course ;)
I totally agree with not feeling emotionally close to people. I've set a goal for myself to be more open with others to see if they will reciprocate. It's hard though.

I have that problem too. For me, theres a hollow feeling in friendships that are lacking emotionally-- one that cant be overlooked. Being starved for affection, as you put it, is something I face as well. Hopefully, with time that will change- for both of us. Especially you, now that you've started pursuing music as a serious venture. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for, now that things have changed, hopefully for the better.
