Do you confuse characters or plots? Do you give more attention to some books than to others? Perhaps you're not ready for a book commitment just yet, and you're doing a brilliant job dating them all in the meantime. =)

Haha. Actually there are some rules to my promiscuity. For instance, I rarely read two fictive pieces at once (and if I do, it tends to be because one is a tome that I had to put down... and then the two do not overlap in obvious ways) -- so I do not tend to confuse characters and plots (although I tend to *forget* characters and plots after I read). So it often happens like this: 1. reading a fiction piece for fun, 2. have something that I am currently obsessed about and so am reading a non-fiction work about it (e.g. pens, clothes, cities, music theory) 3. I have some project that is somewhat related to work (e.g. for a course I am teaching or want to teach, for research/...) that has me reading something for both fun and work....

I do the same. I have started doing this since I use a Kindle...it's easier to have them all there. I used to actually stress over books I had read and what I would do with them? I know, odd right...I like electronic books. No stress and I feel I get through them faster because I don't realize where Im at in the book.
