Thanks Mom For Trying To Be Supportive

Since my four year relationship has ended 18 days ago. My mother who I have been clinging to through my depression set me up on a date with a guy she has known forever. He is a very nice person and I did have a good time hanging out with him as friends, but the thing is I am lonely and I feel like this could be one of two ways good or bad to have a friend with benefits. Nothing has happened thus far because I am not ready for any more relationships in my life.

    It's not a bad idea. It sounds like a perfect thing to do for someone in your situation. You said yourself that you are not ready for a relationship. IF you do this, just explain to the guy that you want to only be friends with benefits. Guys always think once they have sex, that they own the woman so to speak, so make it clear.

    That good your mom cares about you. Having a friend with benefits need to be careful. It one way to cope with things, but you still could still feel down. The worst could happen if you build felling of wanting a dating relationship and he does not want to offer that, then you can make your self feel even worse.

    I have thought of the same thing for my self, but realized at the end, I would just get hurt from it as I know I would want to date her which she might not want to offer that. I wish you well.

      He's not a stranger he's someone i have always known but never would have thought of as someone to hang out with. mainly because he is a very wealthy man in our town, that kind of environment I am not used to. I am used to people who are the same as myself money wise so I'm not sure how to wrap my head around the idea that he wants me to hang out with him.

      It is hard to be with someone very wealthy. I went threw this experiences with someone before. If your interested in a friendship with him, start from there.
