Hometown aside, you and I are on the same page with SanFran, Chicago and Toronto. I always compare to NYC, which I explored and was always a 45-minute NJ Transit Express ride. NYC has it all, of course, in my mind, just packed too close together sometimes. The mass of humanity (the sweat, the sounds, the smells, the rattling energy) can sometimes overwhelm and can foil the unique assemblage of culture and adventures. SanFran, the Windy City and Toronto are slightly scaled down versions of NYC in my opinion.<br />

'Course Sanibel/Captiva is a sunny, calming adventure from a dream and a diversion for the brain for you and I. Again, lock-step in synch.

I have to confess to not being much of a fan of NYC. To me, NYC is too much hassle and too much expense. I tend to view Chicago and Toronto as large cities that are reasonably "user-friendly." Of course, you have to make a huge exception for Chicago traffic.

You gotta know how to navigate and have the framework of a plan when you visit the Big Apple. You can take a $25 taxi ride through crowded, tension-filled Manhattan streets and get to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 40 minutes from Penn Station, or hop on the E-Line of the subway, under Penn, for two bucks and arrive in 10 minutes. Stretch the credit card and waste a couple of hours hunting down a nearby, Fifth Avenue restaurant, or go native with a falafel sandwich on pita with cukes, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and yogurt sauce from a park vendor, eat on a bench and watch the sites fly by.

To be honest, I've never walked around SF in heels. :)

I must say the salmon-colored strappy, gladiator sandals that you chose were probably a sight.

Good to hear Stoner! SF isn't the town to try out cross dressing the feet!! Next time I visit I'm wearing my sneakers!!

Yes, but you look stunning in anything. In SF, I'd be worried that heels would gain me followers.

San Francisco ROCKS!! ♥ ♥ ♥ I love the cable cars!! But those hills can be a KILLER to walk!! Especially in heels!
