We Can Live A Holy Life

People are of the assumption that only certain people can be or live a holy life.

This assumption is certainly not true.   What makes a person Holy is not religion, or status.  Holiness is determined in the behaviour of a person, and anyone and everyone can be Holy and live a Holy life, as the scriptures below teach us.

Genesis 6:22 Noah did everything that GOD commanded.

Genesis 17:1-2

1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am the Almighty GOD.  Obey me and always do what is right.

2 I will make my covenant with you and give you many descendants.”

Exodus 23:2   Do not follow the majority when they do wrong or when they give testimony that perverts justice.

Exodus 35:5   Make an offering to the LORD.

[we no longer offer animals but we can offer the negative parts within us that we want to change, to GOD. I am required to do this every month.]

 see John 15:1-2]

Exodus 35:21  and everyone who wished to do so brought an offering to the LORD for making the Tent of the LORD’S presence.

Exodus 35:29 All the people of Israel who wanted to brought their offering to the LORD for the work which HE had commanded Moses to do.

Leviticus 10:10  You must distinguish between what belongs to GOD and what is for general use, between what is ritually clean and what is unclean.

Leviticus 10:44  I am the LORD who brought you out of Egypt so that I could be your GOD. You must be holy, because I am Holy.

Leviticus 22:32 Do not bring disgrace on my Holy Name; all the people of Israel must acknowledge me to be Holy, I am the LORD and I make you Holy.

Deuteronomy 4:39 So remember today and never forget: the LORD is GOD in heaven and on earth.  There is no other god.

Proverbs 10:8-9

8 Sensible people accept good advice. People who talk foolishly will come to ruin.

9 Honest people are safe and sound but the dishonest will be caught

[Cannot hide anything from GOD]

Ecclesiastes  3:14-15

14  I know that everything GOD does will last forever. You can’t add anything to it or take anything away from it. And one thing GOD does is to make us stand in awe of Him.

15 Whatever happens or can happen has already happened before. GOD makes the same thing happen again and again.

[How loving is GOD to allow us, human beings the same opportunity over and over so we can learn what His WILL truly is for us]

Matthew 5:13-16

13 You are like salt for the whole human race. But if salt loses it saltiness, there is no way to make it salty again.  It has become worthless, so it is thrown out and people trample on it.    [Jesus is speaking about self respect, behaviour]

14  You are like light for the whole world.  A city built on a hill cannot be hid.

15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; instead it is put on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house.  [Jesus is speaking about behaviour]

16 In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in the heaven.  [It is through GOD’S Wisdom and Truth, that make us shine .  again it is speaking about ‘behaviour’]

Matthew 6:21  For your heart will always be where your riches are.

[if you heart is on the world’s desires so will you be, but if your heart is on the Spiritual desires, so will your heart and mind]

Matthew 6:22  The eyes are like a lamp for the body.  If your eyes are sound, your whole body will be full of light

[If you see through GOD’S eyes, your eyes will shine and be that light.]

Mark 4:24  Pay attention to what you hear! The same rules you use to judge other will be used by GOD to judge you, but with even greater severity.

Luke 6:27-28,31

27 But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

28 bless those who curse you and pray for those who mistreat you.

31 do for others just what you want them to do for you.

Luke 6:45 A good person brings good out of the treasure of good things in his heart; a bad person brings bad out of his treasure of bad things.  For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Luke 11:27-28

27 When Jesus had said this, a woman spoke up from the crowd and said to him, “How happy is the woman who bore you and nursed you!”

28 Jesus answered, “Rather, how happy are those who hear the word of GOD and obey it”

Acts 5:29  We must obey GOD, not men.

So we see, that through obeying GOD’S commands and Laws, we can live a Holy Life.

Most High GOD, we humbly come before you and thank you for your continued love and faithfulness because You continuously guide those who choose to hear you, and learn from you.

In Jesus name I pray.
