How does playing the trivia game contribute to breast cancer?

Experience Project will make a donation to the Tigerlily Foundation.

What is the Tigerlily Foundation?

Tigerlily Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, empower, advocate for and support young women affected by breast cancer; to end isolation among young adult breast cancer survivors; to improve the quality of life for young survivors by creating vigilant self-advocates; and to decrease disparities and connect women, regardless of race, sexual orientation, religion or culture.

What does the Tigerlily Foundation provide for women?

Our goal is to provide a national and international network that connects young women (survivors and well women), that educates, empowers, advocates for and provides end-to-end services – from the moment a young woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, through treatment and beyond. With a focus on diversity, and impacting women of lower income, we also reach out to women in communities that have lower access to care treatment and follow up, in order to be able to provide educational, financial and practical support during treatment.

In addition, we work to fill in the gap where the healthcare industry might fall short. Their focus is primarily on helping women during treatment and often there is not enough follow through for women after treatment. This gap in care leaves a lot of women at a disadvantage, with no clear plan as to how to cope with what they have experienced and how to adjust to a new life and a new lifestyle afterwards. Our goal at Tigerlily is to help to fill that gap by being the place that young women can go to address needs that are unique to them. Additionally, Tigerlily seeks to educate young women about breast cancer detection and prevention, so that they lower their risks, AND serve as a resource to address fertility, nutrition and wellness issues, long after treatment ends, because we recognize that even when a woman is in remission, cancer is always a part of her life, and women need to address issues that arise, that are unique to young adult breast cancer survivors.

How will the Tigerlily Foundation use the funds raised by this game?

  • Chemotherapy Buddy Program - This program provides oncology patients with a volunteer to meet them at chemotherapy, and provide support for the duration of their treatment cycle. This support includes running errands, dropping off mail, picking up videos, or whatever the patient might need help with. We also provide grocery delivery, meal delivery and cleaning services.
  • Funds for Families - This program gives financial assistance to families based on their need.
  • Tigerlily's Foundation's Fearless Females - This program ensures that newly diagnosed patients celebrate their lives every day, focus on healing and remember that they are still alive. We offer pampering and empowerment through offering makeovers, dinners, (health appropriate) relaxation treatments and gift certificates.
  • A Day of Beauty - A Day of Beauty brings pampering and relaxation to women undergoing treatment and who are survivors of breast cancer, as well as health education and preventative information and services to well women.
  • Tigerlily Foundation Survivor Support Group - Our support group meetings educate and empower women and families affected by breast cancer.
  • Project Liberia - For over 16 years, Liberia has been devastated by civil war and is now in a state of rehabilitation. Tigerlily works with local hospitals, manufacturers and partner organizations to send diagnostic imaging machines, videos, literature and resources to hospitals and healthcare facilities so women can get proper breast care they need.
  • Tigerlily Foundation Mammogram Program - Early detection and prevention are critical to breast cancer treatment. This program endeavors to provide free mammograms for women who do not have insurance or are of low-income.
